Home Reno 3.6

Another day done with much progress made!  I`ll be honest, I was a little skeptical on how much John would get done today, I didn`t want him to get his hopes up too high as there tends to always be a lot of problems, but in the end he didn`t seem to have any problems and got the whole front tiled!!  It looks GREAT!!  I`m so proud of him since it was his first time doing this and it looks really good. :)

He kept me up-to-date with what was happening here while I was at work, sending me a few pictures here and there to see the progress.  The first picture was of the tiles just laid down to get an idea of how they would look.

Then he went to Home Depot to get the things he would need to stick them down.  The whole project is more than we were expecting, but with that in mind, he didn`t spend too much, especially since he bought a wet saw (only $54 at Home Depot, I was expecting at least double for that!! woo hoo!).  Once he got home, he got to work.  I only got one picture, but it looked great that it made me so excited to get home and see it.  I think it adding in my day feeling long....

When I got home at 4:45pm, he had almost all the tiles down except for the little spot in front of the garage down.  He showed me what he bought and how the process he was using to lay the tiles, then got to work on finishing the last tiles.  Here some pictures of what it looked like when I got home!

I had to tie the door back so he could finish the last pieces
by working in the garage, since he couldn`t be on the tiles
that had already been placed.

The hallway after a long day`s work.
(It has since been cleaned up, but I`m sure it will
go back to something like this later on in the week)

Hard at work!

The wet saw splashes water up on John, so the front of his shirt was
soaked in the centre.  I thought it was sweat, until John took me out
to see how his new tool worked and quickly figured out it was water!

John has to wait 24 hours before he can start grouting the tiles.  He said tomorrow is going to be an easier day, as he was pretty sore from being on his hands and knees all day.  Which is ok, because as it is, it looks like the front entrance will be done by the end of the weekend!  Which is VERY exciting! Until tomorrow...
